Building the Ravenel Bridge

After all the photos I took, I've tried to arrange them in some order based on various topics I found interesting.

And a reminder from T.S. Eliot (East Coker from the Four Quartets)

Here and there does not matter
We must be still and still moving
Into another intensity
For a further union, a deeper communion

September 12, 2004: The Disappearing Gap (in the fog)

A rather foggy overview of the mainspan and approaches

Final 3 cable anchors on the west pier, the 2nd set of hurricane anchors on the west platform, building the east pier cap, and 10th set of cable anchors.

Now there are two sets of hurricane anchors. The new cables do not appear to have been tensioned (yet).
