Building the Ravenel Bridge

After all the photos I took, I've tried to arrange them in some order based on various topics I found interesting.

And a reminder from T.S. Eliot (East Coker from the Four Quartets)

Old men ought to be explorers
Here and there does not matter
We must be still and still moving
Into another intensity
For a further union, a deeper communion

January 20, 2005:Getting there: the East Bay Ramp and Approach

West Ramp Gap: Bridging the next gap, erecting the 3rd girder and the 4th is waiting

Look what happened between 1pm (above) and 5pm (below) - girders off-loaded from the trucks and moved between the two cranes - nice example of just-in-time delivery

Moving the 3rd girder from the left to the right side of the red crane while the 4th girder is patiently waiting

The East Bay Ramp
